Very sad to hear the news of Shirley's death. When I first came to Portsmouth in 1992 with a 3 year old with hearing problems, Shirley was so helpful, welcoming us to the nursery and supporting Christian. The advice we received made a huge difference to our lives, relieving us of much of the stress of having a small son who had repeated tantrums and hardly slept. I couldn't believe that there was a nursery that would take on his challenging behaviour and calm him down. Christian is now 33, has a degree in cybernetics, and has a good job as a software engineer. His success is attributable to the early start he got with Shirley and the Elizabeth Foundation.
